Er hatte 128kB RAM und ein ROM mit vielen Funktionen, einschlie\u00dflich BASIC, einem Terminal, einem einfachen Editor, einer Tabellenkalkulation und zwei Diskettenlaufwerk-Dateisystemen. Der BBC Master bot ausgezeichnete Grafik- und Textmodi, wobei einer der Modi durch einen integrierten Videotext-Rendering-Chip erm\u00f6glicht wurde. Mit zwei Kassettenlaufwerken und drei freien ROM-Steckpl\u00e4tzen war er leicht erweiterbar.
